A local Are.na. Blocks — a link, an image, a piece of text, a PDF — in one index, searchable, tagged, counted. Each link comes with a screenshot of the page taken the day it was saved, so the index reads as a wall of pages rather than a list of titles, and so that a page which disappears is still there as it was. A new block is ⌘ + Enter away; an import takes what you already had elsewhere.

It runs on my machine, and the blocks are mine: no account, no feed, no one else's channels. Two hundred and twenty-three blocks so far, most of them links, the last one added four months ago — a bookmark tool is not a habit, it is a place you come back to when something is worth keeping.
